Me.dium – Official Release

Remember back in the post about SIC when I mentioned that the folks over at Me.dium were working on something really cool but I was sworn to secrecy? Well, it's finally the official launch day, so now I get to tell you all about it!
It was my pleasure of having reviewed Me.dium back in March and I have enjoyed beta-testing this fun product for quite some time. Me.dium is now available for Internet Explorer as well as Flock and Firefox. To give you an idea of how it works, here is an excerpt from the Tucows article I posted to coincide with their official release: “Me.dium is a revolutionary way to interact with others who are surfing the Internet at the same time you are. With Me.dium's Social Exploration Environment (SEE) you can “see” other people online. The installed addon provides an animated interface with shifting icons that represent the sites other Me.dium users are visiting. Though you may not know all of the people that show up in your map, those users are visiting similar sites to the one you are visiting, or their activity is related to yours. This provides you with a bountiful and eclectic resource of fresh, relevant content and information recommended by users like you and delivered elegantly, instantaneously, through Me.dium.”
But here's the big surprise I couldn't mention earlier… now it's even more awesome because they've created a widget that you can add to your blog or web site that allows you to see the activity of the Me.dium users who visit your site.

If you haven't checked out Me.dium yet, you most definitely should!

  1. Hi there, your site is taking a long time to load. Could it be that the me.dium widget is loading first, thereby everything else? Just guessing … something is definitely awry, and it's something new on your site!
Thanks and have a great day!

  2. Just wanted to make sure you know about a great event going on at Me.dium this week. From September 18th through the 22nd, Me.dium is hosting RockMe. (rockme.dium.com), a five-day online music festival bringing five well-known rock bands together to meet and interact with their fans in a unique online social setting. The participating bands include Rose Hill Drive, The Fiery Furnaces, Jeffrey Lewis, Gosling, and The Willowz. During the festival, there will be giveaways, chats with the bands and streaming concerts. Try to check it out!
