Lately I’ve been keeping a nightly journal just to keep track of some of the projects I have going on, simply because I have so many of them in the works at one time.
Feb 2. – Image Altering
Worked on Kyoto series – Saved “Think Spring” and 2 other insignificant pieces that relate but aren’t quite as lovely. Can’t be a series, they look too much alike. Will probably toss the others.
Feb 4. – Vchira
- Green and Blue – flora – (I entered meaningless filename here)
- Green and Blue – Flora with green center (another meaningless filename)
- Lost while rendering, but try to recover from the original .vra file
4000 x 4000 px
Formula: z=z-((z4-z3-z2-z)/(4*z3-3*z2-2*z-1))+c;
àRecovered no.2 – long render
- Red on yellow – small diamond appears upper right (meaninglessfilename)
4000 x 4000 px
same formula – rendered with stalks orbit trap
Thoughts:
There are two noticeable specks of white that look like diamonds in the rough in no.3 that when zoomed in on resemble mandelbrots (certainly there are more that I can’t see) the red bleeds into the places where the three branches come to points – this draws the eye directly toward the center of the point each time the eye moves across the image.
Yesterday I scrapped a bunch of renders in the “New Fractals” folder. Too many lost causes taking up space. Did some cleaning and maintenance and I’m going to scan disk if this render ever completes.
Things I love about Vchira:
1. Perfectly clear renders every time
2. Saves a copy of the params whenever you save a bmp
3. Complete control, easy to use
Right click to bring up tools and zoom – zoom is precise
